Happy Pet Day!
Do you have a pet? Do you want a pet? These are very important questions to a child. I have never met a child who didn’t have or want a pet of some kind. Even those with allergies wanted a pet, whether it was a stuffed animal or a pet rock, it didn’t matter. Here are some great picture books for Pet Day.
Pet Show, by Ezra Jack Keats (1972)
Clifford the Big Red Dog, by Norman Bridwell (1978)
Not Norman:A Goldfish Story, by Kelly Bennett (2005)
Children Make Terrible Pets, by Peter Brown (2010)
You have so many blogs – how do you keep track of them all!? I wouldn’t have known it was Pet Day if you hadn’t told me. 🙂 Learned something!

Hi Wendy! Good to see you again! I only have this one blog, but I post stuff randomly and have a separate page for my daily celebrations. I use a couple of those daily observance sites online and then choose one I want to celebrate with picture books. It’s just something fun I like to do. It kind of reminds me of teaching, when I would hunt and search for just the right books to match a specific theme, lesson, day etc. I enjoy it!
