August 17 – National Thrift Shop Day

Happy Thrift Shop Day!

With school starting up across the country, thrift stores are busier than ever. What used to be considered ‘uncool’ has become a major trend with many students and their families. Vintage is in! Recycled is hot! Gently-used is the new rage!  Budget buyers are Smart shoppers!

In addition to clothing, many shoppers are looking to used book stores for their literary purchases. This is a view of the children’s corner at my local Half Price Bookstore.  Great selection and great prices… go and see what you can discover!

Here’s one of the treasures I found on my shopping spree, a copy of one of my favorite books of all time, in excellent condition! Our first copy bought many years ago was loved to pieces. I’ve bought several more copies for my classroom and for gifts. I think I’ll keep this one!
