Then one more piece of information is given for each snake. The endpapers show a habitat map where the five snakes named in the book live in the world.

Literary Merit: Non-fiction information is accessed easily with photographs and simple sentences. A word bank is provided at the front of the book.

Kid Appeal: Snakes! Kids who are fascinated by snakes will gravitate to this book. Easy to read text will encourage emergent readers to learn more about snakes on their own.
